Role Summary:
The Systems Component Engineer will develop practical & innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In the Systems Component Engineer role, you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilize your understanding and experience to execute business objectives.
Essential Responsibilities:
In addition, as the Systems Component Engineer, you will:
Provide Technical guidance regarding the selection of components to design / development Engineers, Quality, Sourcing and Purchasing
Assist Hardware Development Engineers in the selection of parts that best fit their design requirements and to ensure that all purchased parts on the BOM are designed and manufactured in compliance to the latest RoHS Directives
Coordinate component failure analysis for root cause and drives corrective actions
Research and approves alternate sources to replace End Of Life (EOL) parts
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirement
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Comprehensive understanding of Military Standard Components, Specifications and Environments
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Member of Material Review Board (MRB) and change implementation board
Author ECR / ECOs written against component and specifications; creates Spec Control Drawings (SCD)
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited College or University
Minimum of 10 years of experience in an Avionics or Aerospace Engineering role
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
Ability and Willingness to travel to suppliers up to 20% required
Desired Characteristics:
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
Minimum of 10 years of experience working with the design and production of avionics products
Possess a basic understanding of accepted civil and military aviation safety methodologies
Willingness to learn & be trained for an additional responsibility for a Systems Reliability, Maintainability & Systems Safety Engineer role
Extensive experience in safety analysis, fault tree generation and avionics systems safety analysis, such as the generation of Functional Hazard Assessments, Preliminary System Safety Analyses and System Safety Assessments
Extensive experience in reliability analysis, testing, statistical analysis, and modeling
Perform reliability prediction analysis using generally accepted methodology and failure rate sources such as MIL-HDBK-217, Prism or field experience data
Perform Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis to support the design process and to provide input to Safety and Testability analyses
Understanding and use of Microsoft Office applications
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
